About

Hi, I'm Amy.

My legal name is Xiyuan Liu, but most people call me Amy. I'm a senior atHarvey Mudd College studying Engineering with a focus on electrical and computer engineering, and a minor in Philosophy. I'm graduating in May 2027.

I like the part of engineering where a design meets the real world: bringing up a new board, chasing down why a clock is radiating, or watching a logic analyzer trace finally line up with the datasheet. From June 2025 through August 2026 I was an electrical engineering co-op at RTX Collins Aerospace, where I helped take six avionics display control panels to production release. Right now I'm on an HRL Laboratories clinic team, verifying a RISC-V replacement for the timed processor in a qubit controller.

Outside of class and work I lead avionics for the Mudd Amateur Rocketry Club, where I'm writing our first active-control flight computer firmware and teaching new members to build their first rockets.

In my free time I make digital art and watch anime.

What I'm looking for

Full-time roles in hardware design, board bring-up, embedded systems or digital verification. If that sounds like your team, send me an email.
